It has been said over and over that the main purpose of our life is to KNOW GOD! He created us from nothing and gave us an existence so that we may know Him, be united with Him and worship Him!
Many ask “How do I know God?” The answer is right before us in 1 John 2:3. When we obey and live out His commandments, we get to know Him! When we follow in His footsteps, we end up walking with Him and knowing Him! When we follow His prompting through the Holy Spirit who is within us and listen to His voice (that is obey His commandments), then we end up knowing Him! St. Paul the Apostle said “Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of KNOWING CHRIST JESUS my Lord. For his sake I discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could GAIN CHRIST.” (Philippians 3:8)
Lord God, I desire to know You!! I desire to abide in You! I desire that we be so close, in fact that I be united with You! Grant me to love Your commandments and obey them so that I may experience You in the details of my life! Lord, I pray that You grant me contentment and utter satisfaction when I look back at my life and realize that it was worth living since I lived it KNOWING YOU! That’s the desire of my heart: To Know You Jesus Christ my Lord!
