2 Corinthians 1:24 “But that does not mean we want to dominate you by telling you how to put your faith into practice. We want to work together with you so you will be full of joy, for it is by your own faith that you stand firm.”
ARE YOU FULL OF JOY? What an interesting question to ask when people around us are getting sick, news of others dying are spreading, number of COVID-19 cases are still increasing, more lockdowns are happening...etc.
I was listening the other day to a sermon by our beloved Fr. Tadros Yacoub Malaty in which he spoke about THE JOY OF CHRISTMAS! We are called to be FILLED with Joy because in the fullness of time, God was incarnated, took our very own human nature to Himself and came to SAVE us!! The Almighty God humbled Himself “for us and for our salvation!” He came to take what is ours (sin & death) to give us what is His (righteousness & life)!
In light of this marvellous and GOOD NEWS, who then can be saddened, worried or preoccupied by anything else?? The real indication whether we are abiding in Christ Jesus is if we are living in JOY! This is the SEASON of JOY! This is not the season of Covid-19!!
Let us talk more about the Joy of Christmas! Let us spread hope by being joyful amongst people! If you are responsible for some services in the church, work TOGETHER with the people you serve “so you will be full of joy.” When you call to ask about someone, check on “JOY”, talk about “JOY”...not “COVID”. The question remains: “Are you FULL OF JOY?”
