Recipe for Peace!

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians‬ ‭4:6-7‬ ‭NLT

Everyone is in need of PEACE! Amidst unsettling and worrying news that surround us at this time of the pandemic, many people are experiencing anxiety and stress. The word of God outlines a simple RECIPE for us to follow in order to receive in our hearts the PEACE of the Lord:

1. STOP the worrying THOUGHT. Do not keep on entertaining a negative idea in your head. Refuse to think much about a worrying matter and do not permit it to enter into your mind. Say “STOP” to anxiety-producing thoughts!

2. PRAY about EVERYTHING including what is worrying you. Keep the conversation with God going over ALL things. Do not just focus on one matter, rather expand your prayers to encompass all things.

3. TELL GOD what you NEED! Be open about what you are lacking or in need of when you speak to God! Tell Him what you are seeking as children speaking to their loving father!

4. THANK the Lord for ALL what He has already accomplished in your life. Do not focus only on what you lack, but look at what you have already received from God and offer a prayer of thanksgiving to Him.

THEN you will EXPERIENCE God’s PEACE, which goes beyond all understanding. Even though your circumstances and surroundings may not change, you will be feeling so much peace and tranquillity that overwhelm you and guard your heart and mind!

God promises in this verse that He will bring you into that SAFE PLACE as you abide and live in Christ Jesus! I pray that as we celebrate the Feast of Nativity of our Lord Jesus Christ, we put our faith in the KING of peace Who came into our disturbed world to GRANT us His peace and settle it upon us! Amen!
