“In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.”
1 Peter 5:10 NLT A HOPEFUL PROMISE!
People nowadays are very sensitive to any negative news. Having been in and out of isolation for a year, having missed their annual vacation...not being able to go out or visit friends...struggling with finances...bored with an unending routine of the same daily activities...dealing with sickness, having said goodbye to loved ones or even just hearing about the passing away of several people...there is no more room to any more negative news!
St. Peter was writing to a group of believers going through similar tough times in addition to being actively persecuted for their faith. He reassures them of God’s HOPEFUL PROMISE:
1. You are called to share in God’s eternal glory in Jesus Christ
2. Your suffering is only for “a little while”
3. God will RESTORE you!
4. God will SUPPORT you!
5. God will STRENGTHEN you!
6. God will place you on a FIRM FOUNDATION!
Meditate on this beautiful hopeful promise that comes to you today to reassure you that God is IN CONTROL and that He is for you and NOT against you! Believe it! Live it! Proclaim it! Share it!
