Nowadays people see the truth as a relative matter. Your truth, their truth, anybody’s truth, it does not really matter. We live in an era of relativism and have in many ways abandoned the notion of “absolute truth” especially when it comes to God, faith and religion! God’s standards are no longer “THE” standard in society! Humanism has creeped into our generation and even into Christian churches, as it did in past times. Our “right” and “wrong” is being driven by people, society and political currents and agendas! We are pressured and even forced to celebrate matters that the Holy Bible clearly forbids and consistently calls “sins”. Those amongst us who stand up respectfully for the truth and speaks it in love are asked to “shut their mouth” and are labelled “bigots”, “narrow-minded” and “uncivilized!” Yet, Jesus Christ declared it openly before Pilate, “I was born and came into the world TO TESTIFY TO THE TRUTH!”
This is our purpose as CHRISTians! To testify to the truth in love and with respect to all God’s creation! A lot of people will not recognize the truth we testify for as “true” and that’s because Jesus said that “ALL WHO LOVE the truth” will recognize it as true! Do you love the truth? It’s like saying: love “light” and “health”? Love the truth more than people and more than anything else in this world! Love truth more than popularity and fame! Love truth more than your job security! Love truth more than the life you have in this world! Such was the case for the Saints and the Martyrs who loved God, The Truth, more than anything, anybody and more than themselves! Stand up for the truth in love and with respect! Hold onto the truth and declare it without fear! Be like Christ Jesus whose purpose of coming into our fallen world was to testify to the truth!
Today, when faced with a situation in which the truth is being sought, so not hide nor ignore the matter, ask for wisdom from God and speak the truth in love!
