“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.”
Jude 1:20-21
St. Jude advises us to do 4 spiritual exercises regularly in our life:
1. Build each other in the faith
2. Pray in the power of the Holy Spirit
3. Await God’s mercy & eternal life
4. Keep yourself safe in God’s love
BUILD each other NOT destroy one another. Building means to ACT positively towards people and help one another to have holy faith.
PRAY in the power of the Holy Spirit and NOT simply repeat words without understanding or feelings. Praying means to talk with God in the most spiritually intimate relationship we have with Him as He dwells within us through His Holy Spirit.
AWAIT God’s mercy and eternal life and NOT live in spiritual somnolence and carelessness. Awaiting means being vigilant and watchful for the coming of Christ. It means always crying out saying “Have mercy on me Lord Jesus for I am a sinner!”
KEEP yourself safe in God’s love and NOT alienate yourself from God by sinning. Keeping safe in God’s love means I abide in God’s love and share that love with others.
Build..Pray..Await..Keep! A spiritual exercise to repeat regularly!
